Enrichment

Environmental enrichment is a term for the provision of interest and activities in an animal's surroundings, with the purpose of allowing them to exhibit natural behaviour and provide mental stimulation. This helps to prevent behavioural problems and helps the animal to develop to its full potential, with the side effect of providing greater entertainment and interest for the owner.

Enrichment can include games such as pea fishing, methods of food provision such as scatter feeding and in-cage toys such as ropes and chew toys.
