'Fluffy' is an often derogatory term used for breeders who are aiming for good pet qualities in their rats, possibly to the exclusion of show quality, or 'soft' owners who aiming for ever increasing and idealistic standards of welfare and husbandry. The name is borne with pride by some 'Fluffies'.
