A hormonal condition where the symptoms of pregnancy are emulated, sometimes following mating with a neutered or infertile male, sometimes with no obvious cause. Also observed in a rescue doe who had previously lived alone, simply by being moved into the same room as males.
The doe should come back into season at around two weeks.
A swollen belly can also be a symptom of pyometra.
Lactation in an old doe may be a symptom of a pituitary tumour.
