Cage and Window Stickers

This makes a reasonably water resistant rat sticker of your own design to decorate your cage, car window or any other hard smooth surface.

Needed

Printer (or pens and some talent)
Laminator
Self adhesive laminating sheets
Scissors

Instructions

  1. The first step is to design your sticker. The sticker needs to be smaller than a full sheet of paper. You can either use a painting program, or hand draw it. A colour printer is handy, but you can always print an outline and fill in the colour later.

  2. Cut out the sticker.

  3. Place the sticker inside the laminating pouch. Make sure there is a border all around the sticker. For a window sticker, the design needs to face the adhesive side of the pouch. For a cage sticker it needs to face away from the adhesive side.

  4. Laminate the sticker. If your laminator doesn't use a cardboard feeder it may help to fold some tissue paper over the trailing edge of the laminating pouch to avoid the adhesive being squeezed out onto the roller.

  5. Cut around the sticker, leaving a border of clear lamination to keep the sticker sealed.

  6. Your window sticker will stick inside the window. Be careful where you stick it as they are terrible to remove. Your cage sticker will stick along the base of your rat cage, and will withstand regular wiping down but may suffer if you completely immerse the cage base for cleaning.

I haven't got photos of this, so if you try it, please take some pictures and add them to this page.
