Teeth
Rats' teeth are naturally yellow or orange. They have four incisor teeth at the front of the mouth, two on the top and two on the bottom. These are 'open rooted', which means they grow throughout the rat's life. The rat will brux to keep them trimmed. There are also twelve molars at the back of the mouth, six on the top and six on the bottom. There is a space between the incisors and the molars which enables rats to chew inedible items without consuming them.
Development
Kittens' teeth become visible as early as 10 or 11 days old.
