Who am I?
A question I frequently ask myself...
My name's Annette, aka Rattycorner. I've been keeping rats since 2001, when we got three as pets for my children. Somehow we now seem to have 34! I'm a member of several rat clubs, and maintain the website for the
Midlands Rat Club. I pop up on several rat forums (fora?) under the name
Rattycorner, which is also the name of my rattery website. For a while I ran a ratabilia shop online and at shows, but now I have a 'proper' job instead.
My rats are my pets more than anything else, though I do enter shows on occasion. Possibly once I begin to show my own-bred rats I will find more of a competitive streak inside me somewhere. We'll have to see.
I seem to have found myself a new obsession hobby with Rattypaedia. Not bad for a spur of the moment project. Hopefully there'll soon be lots more visitors and many more contributors, and I will stop spending quite as much time here.
ETA - forget that bit about spending less time here. I've now started a
wiki for Rugby Town too!
31st May 2009 - Might not be around for a little while, as I've got a litter due soon.

2009-04-13 Howdy, Annette. My name's Evan, pleased to meet you! This is a great wiki you've got started here. You might want to allow editors to delete and rename entries. Any entry that is deleted can be recovered by anybody else (only an admin can permanantly delete an entry), so the good editors (which vastly outnumber the bad apples) can use them to help maintain the wiki. It's part of community editing and the way most
wikis on Wiki Spot work. For instance, I created Health Issues, but then wanted to remove it, but can not; only an admin can. —Evan 'JabberWokky' Edwards

No problem: we're a friendly community here on Wiki Spot. I can't help with the specifics too much, as my wife and I are much more into fancy mice, but the wiki side of things I have quite a bit of experience with. I'm interested in possibly keeping some pet rats in the future, so it's interesting to read up on them here. —Evan 'JabberWokky' Edwards

2009-04-19 04:08:51 Hi Ann, loving the wiki. I just made my own rattie one, am shocked there is already this! :) Good luck building it, best of wishes, I may contribute to it, as it looks great.
With the best of wishes.

Thanks Sarah, all praise gratefully accepted. :-P You're very welcome to add to it, and to post the link on any rat forums you can think of.
2009-04-19 11:21:06 Welcome to/from Wiki Spot! Let someone know if you need help with anything around here. We've got a

Thanks Philip, I've been having a good rummage around the info pages, and will be joining the mailing list. :-)
2009-05-04 00:53:58 Hi Annette - great site. Tried to add photos in some of the varieties bits, but if there's a photo there it won't let you. I'm assuming that's a glitch as there are varieties where more than one photo is up. Got a few baldie/essex pics to add but shall check back.

Hi Kathy, glad you like the site. Whether it works or not depends a lot on everyone liking it! I've posted an explanation of putting further photos up on your user page at odysseyrats. xx —AnnetteRand
