2009-05-10 23:37:05   Wobust: A nice sized wheel for most adult rats, although a little cramped for some adult males. I find that the majority of rats will use this if they are introduced to it at a young enough age, although I recently added one to a cage for some ten week old boys, and the two one year olds who had never used a wheel before copied the babies. Replacement front panels are available if the rats chew around the holes. The wheel comes completely apart for cleaning, which is necessary as it traps the mess inside and can get quite foul. Pieces of food etc which are left inside don't fall out naturally, which can make it quite noisy, as can a large rat galumphing around it at high speed. Despite this I think they are the best wheel available and I have one of these in every cage of rats that will use it for running rather than as a toilet. Senior: A useful size for small does and kittens, but the larger version is also light enough for small rats and is less likely to cause wheel tail. —AnnetteRand
